About the Tuition Reduction Incentive Program (TRIP/SCRIP)
TRIP/SCRIP cards and coupons work like gift cards but allow a percentage of the standard purchase price to be donated to a tuition account of your choice. For example, a ten dollar card might generate one dollar toward the tuition account of your child or grandchild. If you buy and use the cards for purchases that you would make anyway, it is the same as getting free money for your child to go to school. Alternatively, you can opt to have the amount deposited into the KCSA Financial Aid general fund to support those families who may be struggling in order to provide their children with a Christian education.
Where to Buy TRIP/SCRIP
The KCSA Association Office and the online SCRIP store provide many cards and coupons instantly, either by providing physical cards, or else coupons that you can print at home. On Wednesdays, when school is in session, there is also a TRIP store located next door to the KCSA office. The Wednesday TRIP store and the online SCRIP store each have differing and additional stores that participate either on-site or through a preordering system. (If ordering at the Association Office or at the Wednesday TRIP Store, please be prepared to pay by check, cash or money order.)
Please note that some participating stores have designated different donation percentages depending upon which ordering method is used (KCSA instant TRIP, SCRIP instant/printed e-coupons, SCRIP preorder, TRIP preorder, or Wednesday TRIP store). We encourage you to compare donation percentages by ordering method when planning your purchase.
Also, the Wednesday TRIP store does not need to be open in order for you to place or pick up your order during the remainder of the week - the Association office can hold your order or envelope until the store opens or you or your designated party can pick it up.
